the Lacie Classic HD plays Blu-ray video (H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2), and there’s no need to convert Blu-ray video. Keep original video to get best quality.

Optional audio codec in a commercial Blu-ray Disc: LPCM as well as Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Lossless, DTS digital surround and DTS-HD audio formats.
Lacie Classic HD supported audio codec:MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA, OGG, WAV, FLAC, MKA, LPMC, Dolby Digital, DTS. (Multichannel decoding via optical S/PDIF and HDMI to home amplifier)
Which audio to keep and which to convert: down convert the audio to mp3 stereo if the Lacie Classic HD is directly connected to HDTV; keep multiple Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS audio if the audio is delivered to audio receiver with S/PDIF cable. Lacie Classic HD is capable of decoding DTS-HD audio and passing-through Dolby TrueHD audio, so you may also keep original DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD track, but make sure that your audio receiver handles the HD audio and HDMI 1.3 cable is used to deliver the audio. PCM and LPCM audio must be converted to Dolby Digital, i.e. AC3 (by checking “Check” and “Encode” boxes), because the Lacie Classic HD does not support these codecs.

Blu-ray Subtitles are not supported by Lacie Classic HD media player so you’d better have them converted.
